Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. The actress did not go on to pursue acting as a career after reaching adulthood because her parents were afraid of the negative impact stress might cause. Perry said she felt nervous to be an actor in high school but began doing shows at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer from Boston University. Perry managed to get small TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent after she graduated. However, her homesickness led her back to California again where she began to work in the stage. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. She performed with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played nine roles in The Family, an ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. In 2017 she had an recurring role in The ABC political thriller Scandal which starred her father. In addition, she played the young Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon which was which is a CBS spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. The character was assigned by audition even though she has a family tie to the character.
